Jeovon Mitchell, from New Orleans, was booked in the Slidell city jail with several charges related to that incident.He also was booked in connection with another incident Wednesday (April 23) when police said Mitchell escaped after they tried to chase him through a parking lot.Slidell police said they’d been on the lookout for a stolen Jeep Liberty since late last week after an anonymous tipster told them they’d seen the Jeep being driven around the city.An off duty officer spotted asics running the Jeep Wednesday afternoon in a shopping center parking lot and called for on duty officers to come out, police said. The Jeep’s driver took off.Officers briefly gave chase in the crowded parking lot, but said they backed off for safety reasons. asics running The driver got away.The same off duty officer spotted the Jeep again Thursday in a Slidell neighborhood. Mitchell was standing nearby, police said. Slidell police officers and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies rushed to the scene to try to get Mitchell, but police said he jumped in the Jeep and tried to drive off.Mitchell rammed the Jeep into two police cars, police said.
