Teen runaway charged in burglaries

A 15 year old boy was arrested Saturday on charges he burglarized two stores in Lindenhurst after running away from a juvenile facility in Westchester County, Suffolk County pol asics running ice said.

The te asics running en was allegedly in the middle of a burglary when a woman flagged down First Precinct patrol officers at the corner of Hoffman Avenue and South Broadway and told them she’d heard glass breaking in the area, police said.

When Suffolk County Police Of asics running ficer John Angus arrived, he heard more glass breaking and saw the 15 year old climbing out of a broken window at Flag Beverage, 75 West Hoffman Ave., police said.

Investigators learned the teen had stolen lottery tickets from the store, police said. The tickets were found a short time later.

Police said they determined the teen, whose name was not released, was also responsible for a July 11 burglary at nearby Exotic Liquors on Hoffman Avenue.
