Teen warned over drug use

A TIMBOON teenager has been told that if he continues to use drugs the consequences will be devastating and permanent.

Rodney Merrett, 19, of Peterborough Road, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court yesterday to possession of cannabis and possession and use of amphetamine.

Magistrate Jonathan Klestadt said it was through no fault of Merrett’s own that life was more difficult for him than other young people in the community.

He said if he continued to use illicit drugs he ran the risk of losing asics running the support of his family and he only had one family.

“This has to be the last time you make these poor choices because the consequences for you will b asics running e devastating and permanent,” he said.

Merrett was convicted and fined $400.
